Razer began its roots in 1998 under Karna LLC, a company specializing in mechanical high speed tracking, where hardcore gamer Min-Liang Tang met Robert Krakoff, and the following year they released the Razer Boomslang, the world’s first gamer mouse designed to give gamers around the world precision and accuracy for better, faster, and more enjoyable gaming. It was embraced by gamers and created a new industry geared up for high performance video gaming. In 2000, Karna organized the Razer Cyber Athlete Professional League (CPL) which offered the biggest pot money for eSports, but financial problems in the same year led to it closing down.

In 2005, Min wanted to pursue his dream of designing and creating products for gamers, and together with Robert, they acquired to rights to Razer and founded the company that is now known today. In the same year, they rose from the ashes with the release of the Razer Diamondback, an ambidextrous gaming mouse that was the successor to the Razer Boomslang, and the success of the Razer Diamondback saw the growth and expansion of Razer as one of the top companies for video gaming products, creating a partnerships with Microsoft as well as sponsoring professional gamers for Warcraft III.

In 2009, Razer launched the Razer Mamba, the first ever wireless gaming mouse. The following year, they released the BlackWidow gaming keyboard. In 2011 they unveiled their first system, the Razer Switchblade which was highly regarded as best hybrid laptop and was followed by the Razer Blade, the world’s first gaming laptop. This was later followed by the Razer Fiona, and later by Razer Edge in 2013, one of the best gaming tablets, continuing the dream of giving gamers around the world high performance gaming peripherals made and tested by gamers themselves.

Starting with the BoomSlang, Razer continued leading the way to give gamers the tools and products they need to be at their best. Some of their latest mouse designs include the Razer Ouroboros, Razer DeathAdder, Razer Taipan, Razer Imperator, Razer Abyssus. From wearables, software, gaming systems, cases, and game controllers, Razer leads the way to give gamers the high performance products and results for a more enjoyable gaming experience.
